Lamineries MATTHEY, branch of Notz Metall AG, headquartered since 1901 in La Neuveville, Switzerland, is recognized as one of the undisputed market leaders for precision cold rolling, capable of meeting very specific and technically demanding requirements. In addition, Lamineries MATTHEY is a preferred partner for the supply of copper-beryllium rod, tube and wire in all sizes. In July 2017, the company Lamineries MATTHEY joined the NOTZgroup, a group of international companies specialized in metals processing and trade.

New alloy TOUGHMET® 3

Lamineries MATTHEY offer the new alloy ToughMet® 3 by MATERION  (lead- and beryllium-free), in bars & wire form.

ToughMet® 3 is a lead- and beryllium-free copper-nickel-tin alloy that can be hardened by spinodal decomposition. ToughMet® 3 in form of bars & wires have mechanical and machinability properties similar to those of CuBe2Pb alloy. 

The main characteristics of ToughMet® 3 :

  • High hardness and mechanical properties
  • Excellent geometric stability of parts after treatment
  • Excellent wear resistance and self-lubrication
  • Excellent corrosion resistance in marine environments
  • REACH-compliant (lead-free).

ToughMet® 3 can be used in a wide range of applications, such as swiss turning, parts for the watchmaking and aerospace industries.
