Lamineries MATTHEY supplies the medical equipment industry with stainless strip and foil in stainless steels (AISI 301, AISI 316L, AISI 316LVM, etc.), Titanium Grade 1 and Grade 2, Phynox, UNS R30003 (a hardening austenitic alloy on cobalt basis also called Elgiloy*) and other special alloys. These materials are often used for implant components, frequently very small but critical, as well as for endoscopes and many other types of medical instruments.
