Nickel and Nickel alloys

Nickel alloys are often required in complex applications, where corrosion and thermal resistance are demanded. Nickel and nickel alloys comprise: various types of pure nickel, binary alloys Ni-Cu, Ni-Si or Ni-Mo, ternary alloys, type Ni-Cr-Fe, Ni-Cr-Mo etc. and superalloys.

The commercially available pure nickel exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in reduced environments. Lamineries MATTHEY offer pure nickel (99,6 %) or nickel 200 (UNS N02200/ 2.4060 & 2.4066) in the form of rolled precision strips, either hard-drawn or soft-drawn.

Nickel and copper form a solid solution in all compositions. Thus, these alloys can only be hardened by further rolling, while showing excellent corrosion resistance, which is higher than that of pure nickel in reduced environments and better than that of copper in oxidizing environments. Monel or alloy 400 can also be found in the list of rolled alloys of Lamineries MATTHEY.

Nickel and chromium alloys, nickel-chromium-iron alloys as well as nickel and molybdenum alloys are alloys with high-temperature resistant properties. Various alloys of this type, e.g. NiCr15Fe 2.4816 (Inconel) or NiMo16Cr15W 2.4819 (Hastelloy-C276) are rolled by Lamineries MATTHEY.
