Telecommunications
A significant part of Lamineries MATTHEY's product range is used for the manufacture of terminals employed in telecommunications applications. The growing trend to miniaturization of connectors requires special characteristics such as: High contact force, appropriate electric conductivity, low magnetism and good relaxation resistance at elevated temperatures. Copper-beryllium alloys meet these diverse requirements best. Apart from advanced products such as copper-beryllium, Lamineries MATTHEY also supplies conventional alloys for connector applications such as brass, bronze and certain stainless steels.

In the telecommunications sector, coaxial connectors are frequently used, for example, for antennas. In the copper-beryllium range, Brush Wellman developed rod and wire made of CuBe2Pb alloy with excellent machinability which enhance productivity with a high degree of reliability. This alloy material is easy to machine and disposes of all the extraordinary properties associated with beryllium rich copper alloys. Lamineries MATTHEY maintain a wide selection of dimensions in stock.
